It can be difficult to find reliable shipping from the United States to Saudi Arabia. There are a number of customs regulations that must be adhered to, and many small businesses in the United States don’t offer international shipping options.
However, there’s one company that takes all the hassle out of international shipping, so you can get your packages to the country for the lowest possible price.
MyUS will deliver your packages from the United States to Saudi Arabia. You can even get your packages shipped if the US company doesn’t offer international shipping.
How It Works
When you sign up as a member with MyUS, you’ll be given a United States shipping address. This is the address you’ll use through the online checkout process. The business you buy from will send the package to the MyUS warehouse, located in Florida.
From there, MyUS will consolidate your packages and ship them to Saudi Arabia as cheaply as possible. They’ll make sure the items all adhere to customs regulations, so you don’t try to import any banned items. In addition, if any of the items are damaged upon arrival, MyUS will help you return them to the original stores so you don’t pay unnecessary fees.
All MyUS shipping rates are calculated by weight. You don’t need to worry about how many packages you have, or how large they are. When the packages arrive at the MyUS warehouse, the staff will repackage everything into one box. This will make your shipping fees much cheaper than if you sent each package individually.
You can use the MyUS shipping rate calculator found here to find out how much your package will cost. The exchange rate calculator will convert your price from USD to SAR.
You’ll have a number of different shipping options to choose from. Express shipping will get your packages there as fast as possible, while Economy shipping will save you money. You can compare different rates side by side to choose the fastest possible option for your unique budget.
Duties and Taxes
Saudi Arabia has a “de minimis value” for shipment. Any shipments underneath this value do not have to pay taxes and duties. However, if your shipment is greater than this value, you will need to pay both taxes and duties.
The de minimis value for both taxes and duties is 1,000 SAR.
There has also been a revision done to the clearance process. This revision went into effect on January 1 of 2018. All imported packages will have a value added tax of 5 percent, calculated by the total value of the shipment.
MyUS doesn’t collect this tax. Typically, the Saudi Arabian government will be responsible for collecting the tax. If the declared value of the shipment is more than $266 USD, it will probably need a formal clearance. This means you might need to provide the government with additional documentation.
MyUS is often able to assist with any required additional documentation. However, this might incur processing charges or increase the time it takes to process the package.
You can get more information about specific requirements by visiting the Saudi Arabian Customs website.
If any of the items in your package have been damaged, broken, or prohibited from entering Saudi Arabia, MyUS will help you return them to the US sellers. This will keep you from incurring unnecessary taxes or shipping costs.
If you purchase express shipping, you can expect your package to arrive within about 3 to 4 business days after its departure from the MyUS warehouse. If you purchase economy shipping, this time frame lengthens to between 5 and 10 business days. It’s possible that packages will arrive sooner than these estimated times.
If your package needs to be shipped in a rush, it’s easy to change your shipping method through your smartphone.
Every country has import rules regarding what items can be brought within the borders. MyUS has a compliance team that works to ensure all items are shipped legally and safely to Saudi Arabia. When any items are prohibited, you’ll be notified, and the team will help you return it.
